Private Land Elk Refuges

Though Senator Max Baucus is quick to pat himself on the back over creating the Elkhorn Range hunting district, there is a phenomenon happening throughout this region that is distressing. Surrounding this game management area is an alarming rate of private ownership of the foreground foothills stopping access to forest lands above these lands. Particularly at the southern end of the Elkhorns near Boulder, Mt. where (at last count)there were 200 head of elk lying in a field (privately owned) visible from I-15.

State of America - answers to today's problems?

High prices and low income rates are making it impossible to survive. What can we do?

Rush to renew

The green has arrived, every shade an assault to eyes grown lazy from the fading browns of leftover winter. Early blooms bring a silly grin for the shock of color and the enjoyment of brisk days and nights.

The dutifull are busy trimming and plucking, convincing mowers to come out of hibernation with a cough and a choke whilst others say - it is only May.

Fickle weather prevents making do with any one wardrobe choice. A quick glace at any crowd shows that confusion abounds from the overdressed to too much free flesh.

10 months

In a little over 10 monthes my boyfriend and I will be moving to Missoula. I can't wait!!! We had planned on moving in May but a job promotion is keeping us here a bit longer. I work as an Orthodontic assistant and my boyfriend and I both act in the local theatres here in Bakersfield. Does anyone know how hard it would be for me to find a job and both of us to break into acting in Missoula?

Should we come to Missoula?

Hi everyone. My husband and I want to move to Montana. We have some good friends that say Missoula is the place to come to. But they live there and are friends of ours so we need some unbiased opinions. We love being outdoors and are "green" so we felt that Missoula would be great based on what our friends say. But they also say that the weather is great and every blog I read and every website that has "city" data on it says that Missoula is actually pretty dismal for most of the months of the year with overcast skies etc.

Sledding?

Now that it finally snowed (hopefully it keeps it up), does anybody know where there are some good sledding hills, I'm new to the area so any information would be useful!

It snowed today!

Of course, unless you knew it snowed, you wouldn't know it snowed...cuz none of it stuck.

It's late this year - the snow. Granted, it doesn't usually stick until the 3rd week of November, but still, we should have had more days of the white stuff....falling, chilling the roads, and then melting again.

It seems like every year it looks less and less like Montana around here. Won't be long now, the snowbirds will be coming here for the winter!
