Brimming with some of Shakespeare’s most poetic and beloved language as well as multiple earnest love stories and affecting themes of identity, time, and healing from loss, Twelfth Night more than deserves its recognition as the Bard’s most popular comedy. The play’s title references the end of the Christmas season, which was often celebrated with a temporary suspension of rules and social orders. Masters and servants, wise and foolish, men and women all overturn convention in the course of this warm, witty, wonderful production.
